About me

I'm Randy. Soon-to-be 68-year old boy. Started out as a tv / vcr repairman, overlapping career as an auto mechanic specializing in suspension and alignment, brakes, and electrical. Finished up as an Automotive instructor for nine years. Quit working at 52. Now I'm happy to come and go as I please. Hobbies include repairing car radios, carpentry, wood working projects, and repairing just about anything. I've been building a huge garage for many years. The goal isn't really to finish it. The fun is in the design and building. I'm in a constant state of cleaning and organizing, but you'd never know it. Much of the mess is due to a major house fire ten years ago. My new one is designed, but I haven't been in a hurry to start construction. Maybe this summer if someone gives me a kick in the pants. Enjoy playing in the stock market. You could call me "homeless", but I do have a dandy tiny apartment in my garage. Unfortunately not much room to pursue hobbies, and I hate the cold of winter, so projects get put on hold for a few months. My biggest deal of the year is the weekend after July 4th as a vendor at the Iola Old Car Show swap meet, (spaces J58 - 60). Stop in; there's always cold soda in the fridge. I sell car parts and service manuals, but mainly I'm there to sell and repair car radios, (and watch the girls walk by). Three years at UW-Stout, ending two credits short of a Master's degree. Disgruntled to say I have absolutely no musically talent whatsoever. Don't think you're going to teach me to dance, sing, or play an instrument. Wish I could, but it's not going to happen. Personality-wise, I'm disappointed to say I'm not your average guy. Quiet, painfully shy, respectful to a fault. I can carry on a conversation in a bar, but I'm somewhat out of my element. Too noisy and too many distractions when I want to concentrate on just you. I can promise gentleness, and no chance of physical or emotional abuse. Did I tell you how boring I am? I'm not looking for a long-term relationship, but no one-night-stand either. Someone considerably younger to match my delayed emotional development. Worked two, and at times, three jobs at once while ignoring a social life for way too long. Now it's time to enjoy your friendship.
